2009 Class Reunion - 30th year Anniversary

Tracy Mizota has volunteered to be the point-man and coordinate the 30th year Class Reunion (1979-2009). Initial plans are for a Las Vegas trip with tentative dates in mid-September'09 to coincide with the UH v.s. UNLV game on Sept. 19, 2009.
On the drawing board are the following events:
- Kick-off / cocktail get-together
- Casino night
- Tail-gate/UH-UNLV football game
- Golf / Class Dinner

Take note...mark your calendars...stay tune!
Let's all give Tracy our support; we will need everyone's help to make this an awesome and memorable reunion.

Any thoughts, ideas, comments...

First, Big Mahalos to Mark V for setting up our Class of '79 web site. Now let "ALL" of our Classmates know that this is where they can get information regarding our Class functions and activities. Also, it will provide a place where they can leave contact information or comments. Second, Big Mahalos also goes out to "ALL" the Classmates who have given their time and kokua to making past, current, and future Class of 1979 events Fun and Memorable!!! Memor et Fidelis

As wonderful as Mark V. is to have devoted the time, energy, commitment and loyalty (to all 79ers) it no doubt took to develop this site, I sure wish I had him here, right now, by my side, as I try to figure out how to use this site, what a blog is, how to register so that I can write these words that the reader(s) may or may not even care to read. Gee, Mark V. is a talented and bright guy. Now, we need an official Class Photographer to snap some cool shots, as our Class makes it presence known on the SLS Campus (are you listening, Russell, V.?), in the Community, in the News and at the SLAA! It's time that each of us recognize just how valuable we are, to SLS and to each other!!

Great job Mark V. I've been monitoring the progress and ongoings of our class of '79 from cold-wet pacific northwest. Thank you Ben Y for forwarding my email to Tony, and thank you Tony S for adding me to the email list. It is only a small bond to my band of brothers, but a bond unbreakable. I'll continue to be vigilant to the updates posted regarding our 30th Anniversary. Best wishing to ko'u ohana. Kawika D

Mahalo from Montana! It's a challenge to keep in touch when we live so far away. This blog is the perfect solution. Thanks Mark! I look forward to seeing all of you at the reunion!

Jus to update everyone on the 30th. We are 99% decided it's Vegas, we want to center it around the Sept. 19 2009 UH vs UNLV game and related tailgate party. Everyone can pencil the date on their calendars now. Tracy's working on estimated prices for packages out of HI and we'll also check on deals for those living in the part of the US that sucks (anywhere not HI). Upcoming meeting discussions will be other events such as golf, meet and great cocktail party, dinner show, reserved crap table for 79ers. Post any other ideas or email Tracy directly.
PS. nice to hear from veeks and Jeff. Cute family Jeff...have you put on wieght? Probably just the lens(I never miss the opportunity to take a shot).

Outstanding! Mark well done. Tony thank you for your diligence in keeping me in the loop. Tracy thanks for taking the lead on our 30th. If I can help let me know. I feel that a few functions before the reunion would help to keep the group together in Vegas (lets other family memebers get to know each other as well). After being stroked and liquored up I have graciously accepted the coaching position for next year’s softball team. It would be great venue as a Kick Off to our reunion year. A afternoon potluck with lots of laughs. And, for those that want to play next year, remember stretches and batting practice. I will post updates as they become available.

This is great! Thanks Jeff L. for sending me the link. I'll be watching for updates on the reunion. So it looks like Vegas in 09. Will there be anything in Hi. at all? I've been telling my much better half, kids, extended family that we were going to Hi. If not I'll have to be very creative.

Hope to be reading much more and seeing what you guys back home in Hi are doing.

Aloha class of 79. Thanks to all involved for the blog and for the guys that are helping to get out the word. Vegas for the 30th sounds like the deal!! Nice to hear from the guys abroad like Wacky and Jeff and Glenn. Greg I love that you are always you. As far as Big Daddy, softball will never be the same. At least if it hits him in the head it won't leave a dent this time. To the rest of the class I hope everyone can stay connected through this awesome blog site.
A Hui Hou to all my alumni brothers.
